TYPES OF FLOOR

TYPES OF FLOOR

Court Lines: The court is marked with lines that define its boundaries and various playing zones. These lines are typically white and should be visible against the floor color. The lines include:

Baseline: The back boundary line of the court.

Sidelines: The side boundary lines of the court.

Centerline: The line bisects the court, separating the left and right service courts.

Service Lines: These lines divide the court into service courts for serving.

Short Service Line: The line dividing the front service court and the rest of the court.

Net: A net stretches across the center of the court, dividing it into two halves. The top of the net is suspended 1.55 meters (5 feet 1 inch) above the ground at the center and 1.524 meters (5 feet) at the posts.

Poles and Posts: The net is supported by poles or posts on the sidelines. These are typically metal or strong plastic structures firmly anchored to the ground.

Floor Surface: The floor of a badminton court is usually made of wood or synthetic materials designed to provide good traction and minimize slipping. It should have a consistent and smooth surface to facilitate smooth movement during play.

Lighting: Proper lighting is essential for indoor badminton courts to ensure good visibility of the shuttlecock and players. Lighting fixtures should be evenly distributed across the court to minimize shadows and glare.

Surroundings: The surroundings of the court should be clear of obstacles to allow players to move freely and to prevent accidents.
